The Journey Here

OK, I know this is backing up but I wanted to share about the journey to Santa Rosa.

Have you ever felt a resistance against you trying to get to do something? Let’s take a view at a few pics:

Do you see that icicle hanging from the roof of the tunnel?

First of all, the drive from Idaho to Oregon was like the wind was always against us. But what was really fun was going over the pass from Sweet Home to Klamath Falls. We should have known what we were getting into when we woke up to snow on the ground. When we made it to the pass, I we drove by a bunch of cars parked on the side of the road and a hole in one area where a car had gone over the bank and people were getting rescued.

So I come to a point where I knew I needed to put chains on. I go to pull over and we start slowly sliding into the other lane. Then I look in front of us and there’s an RV doing the same thing siding back at us.
I quickly get out the chains and try to put them on (we were hoping to return them for a refund because we didn’t have to use them…oh well).  Thanks to the awesome state trooper, we got them on and on our way before anymore sliding mayhem.

The trip from K-Falls to Santa Rosa was uneventful even though there was a light powdering in the morning.

Now we’re here, the temp is in the 70’s.  And it’s awesome to see the sun.

  1. were those icicles in the tunnel?

  2. Those are totally icicles in the tunnel! Imagine when they drop! Imagine having to explain to the insurance adjuster the gashing wet hole in your hood.

  3. That’s awesome.
