Going Beyond Questions

I’ve been reading the Reveal study from Willowcreek. One of the concepts just jumped out for me when thinking about leading New Day and help the people of Santa Rosa grow closer as followers of Jesus.
They suggested a starting point to help people move beyond where they’re at when it comes to their relationship with Jesus.
Here are the three ideas:
·Ask more than “How many?”– Just because you have numbers doesn’t mean you have disciples. It just means you have people there.
·Go beyond “How are you?”- How are you is such a surface question, unless a leader decides to take the relationship to a deeper level by asking deeper questions, relationships with one another and God will only be surface relationships.
·Ask “How does that help someone grow”- Too often I get caught up in the idea instead of leading others to the destination. Offering pathways to growth allow for people to follow Jesus step by step instead of just filling a seat.
